Congrats to Democracy for choosing such an outstanding candidate to be the most powerful person in the world, who just so happens to be African-American.

There really is no nice or politically correct way to say this...

But Sarah Palin is really an airhead.
For those who don't' know my background. My mother was probably one of the brightest people I have ever known, and her university track record where I think she got the best student award if not a few times at least once, illustrates that fact. In my undergraduate year, I think the smartest person in my Physics classes happened to be a woman. I can give other examples, but my point is that I am not sexist. Just like they are very smart men and dumb men so too they are very smart women and dumb women.
I think the media is afraid to be too critical of her for fear that they be labeled sexist.
I think this same media was also afraid to criticize Obama in the beginning for fear of being labeled racist.
But after watching the ABC Charles Gibson and the CBS Katie Couric interviews, there is no nice way to say this.
The woman is a complete idiot.....I think George W finally has someone he can stand next to and look like a smart guy :-)..I can't beleive she may end up being a heartbeat away from being the most powerful person in the world.

America proud of you....

I would like to think that even if I wasn't born a black man, my belief in MLK's passage "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character" would be as strong and passionate as it has been to me since I was but a young child. America made a huge step towards that yesterday when as MSNBC put it, it is the first mostly white nation that has ever elected an African American to a position where he has at least a 50:50 chance to become the leader of that country.

It isn't that the Democrats have elected 'a black man' to lead their party, but such a well spoken, very qualified, articulate, bright visionary man, who happens as Willie Brown put it "to have a terrific tan".

I can't even try to describe how proud I am of Barack Obama in taking this very important step in making so much of a world believe "Yes We can". As a very close friend told me last night, America really is the land of opportunity for all its flaws.

Congrats to America, Congrats to Obama and congrats to people globally who believe passionately in that line from Martin Luther King.


P.S. can someone please tell the Clintons that that race is over :-)

The urge to bitchslap....

I hope this doesn't come off sounding sexist because I have also felt the need to bitchslap some of the male gender as well.
And I guess it doesn't really matter because I am not a US citizen (although I am sure they want me to be....lol), but everytime I see Hillary Clinton go on a stage or an interview with a straight face and tell people that although she had agreed to Florida and Michigan not having their delegates seated, that she strongly believes that it is the USA of 50 states and not 48 states and she will fight to have the delegates of these states seated as the votes of the null and void primary dictated. That Obama wasn't even on the ticket in Michigan doesn't even slightly faze her, and she counts all these votes as part of her special maths which shows her ahead on the popular vote...I feel like jumping through the TV and bitchslapping her. She really pisses me off with this crap logic. If by some miracle she becomes the Democratic candidate I will be firmly supporting McCain, yes from the sidelines since I have zero votes :-)

I am by no means an expert.....

on the subject of love and relationships. I have been in a very short lived, very unsuccesful, very unhappy and traumatic marriage and by the fact that I am currently single it means too that I have not been in any succesful relationship.
I have been in many relationships/affairs/whatever you want to call it and it is only after 44 years of living on this earth that I finally, after living in crisis do I fully appreciate and understand the importance of the following 'stars of alignment'.

1) Love
2) Respect
3) Like
4) Trust

I was trained as a mathematician but I am not even sure how to calculate the odds of finding someone who you are in love with, respect as a person, like as a friend and trust..... and worse of all to happen to find that person who feels the exact same way about you in all those four aspects....to have all four of those 'stars aligned' may happen ONCE in your lifetime NEVER to be found again.... Do not take those odds for granted.
Do not do like I have done. Be prepared to bend over backwards, change, compromise, do all it takes. Do not let stubborness and ego and pride get in your way. It may never come into your life again.

If you have that special situation in your life......keep it and treasure it always.

hopefully I have learnt from my mistakes and can correct them, hopefully others will not make those same mistake.

The bitter comment

I was reading CNN online and came across this:

West Virginia had not voted for a non-incumbent Republican for president since Herbert Hoover. It even voted for Michael Dukakis in 1988.

Then came 2000, when George W. Bush surprised everyone by winning West Virginia. How did he do it? With social issues, such as abortion, gays and -- most important -- guns, in a state where more than 70 percent of the voters have a gun in their households.

hmmmmmmm, let me see if I get this right, he won their votes by talking about prejudices, people who are different from them, guns and religious issues such as abortion.....NAW....there is no way that you would describe those voters as bitter clinging to guns, religion and people who are different......

Hypocrisy is very much alive and well and it is spell with an A.

I have to comment. I was just watching that idiot Beck on CNN Headline news and he was showing three minutes of the chickens have come home to roost clip from Rev. Wright. I am shocked/amazed/angry that they are upset with Wright speaking the truth. Nothing he said in that clip isn't the truth. Nothing!!!!!

God is an awesome God

So many things to say since my last post.
For instance how my boy Obama is doing in his bid to be the next American President. How hypocritic my 'favourite' country is, since I haven't heard anyone dispute the truth of what Rev. Wright has said and I actually agree with most of what he has said....it is amazing that Americans have buried their head in the sand for so long. Who can really dispute that they have reined terror on so many other countries for the past 50 and more years.....pity Obama has to distance himself.

Instead :-), I want to take this opportunity to thank God publicly, for steering the Supreme Court Justice to render a decision that will allow me to continue be an integral part of Nikos's life. Nikos will continue to live in Jamaica !!!!!
