I really didn't think Americans had it in them.... I humbly stand corrected.
Congrats to Democracy for choosing such an outstanding candidate to be the most powerful person in the world, who just so happens to be African-American.
Dr. MLK your dream took a gigantic leap towards reality.

We have witnessed the greatest turning of the tide in modern history. There is hope for our children yet. In so many ways, on so many different levels, the "Yes we can" and "hope..and change we can believe in" signal not just the superficial adding of colour to the White House, but sparking change within all of us. There is hope yet in the world. As Jamaicans we do not have the racial hangups as others in the diaspora but we have not been cut off from the struggles of our people. The week Obama got elected, Miriam Makeba died. As one African stalwart rises, one falls. But the thing about legacy is that it lives long past our natural years. Change has come. Change will continue to come.
